Public relations professionals from across the tri-state area will gather Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, at Sony Hall in Manhattan for the 38th Annual Big Apple Awards, hosted by the New York Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA-NY).

This year’s event, themed “Elevate & Evolve: Honoring PR Excellence in a Changing Landscape,” will recognize communications leaders who are advancing the profession during a time of rapid change across platforms and audiences. The awards spotlight both veteran professionals and emerging talent in the New York City metro area.

“From embracing digital transformations and leveraging emerging platforms to navigating challenges with agility, honorees will be those who have not only kept pace with change—but led the way,” said Ken Kerrigan, president of PRSA-NY.

The ceremony will take place at Sony Hall, a venue known for blending art deco elegance with cutting-edge production technology. Located in the heart of the theater district, the space was selected to reflect the event’s focus on innovation and tradition.

Fay Shapiro, publisher of CommPRO and long-time supporter of the Big Apple Awards, noted: “This event continues to be an essential moment for our industry to reflect on where we are and where we’re headed. Recognizing work that drives real impact is more important than ever.”

Entries for this year’s awards remain open through May 28 and can be submitted here. Entry pricing and requirements are available through the same link.

Additionally, nominations for the annual 15 Under 35 Awards, sponsored by PRophet and focused on emerging talent, will open May 19 and close July 6. More details will be available on the PRSA-NY website starting May 19.

PRSA-NY also acknowledged the support of key sponsors, including Hunter, Edelman, Burson, Hill & Knowlton, 360PR+, Gregory FCA, The Stevens Group, The Museum of Public Relations, Notified and PRophet.
