Newly Independent Attention Comms Aims to Redefine Mission-Driven PR Leadership

Paul Cohen, CEO of Attention Comms

Paul Cohen has been named chief executive officer of Attention Comms, a newly independent communications agency formed following a share buyout of Milk & Honey PR’s U.S. operations.

The buyout was led by Cohen, who founded and led Milk & Honey PR’s U.S. business since its launch in 2021. Based in New York City, Attention Comms will focus on strategic communications and public relations for organizations and brands with defined missions.

“All current U.S. team members are continuing with the agency, and we will maintain our client partnerships,” Cohen said. “Over the past four years, we’ve built a foundation based on shared values and strategic focus. As Attention Comms, we remain committed to helping organizations communicate with clarity and purpose.”

Attention Comms will continue to work with clients in sectors including health, technology, energy, social impact, nonprofit, and arts and entertainment.

Cohen brings three decades of global communications experience, including 17 years at Ketchum, where he held senior roles in offices across Asia, Europe and North America. He had served as a partner at the firm since 2010.

The new agency will remain headquartered in New York City and retain its current client base. Terms of the share purchase were not disclosed.

Fay Shapiro, publisher of CommPRO, offered support for the new agency’s direction. “Paul Cohen brings a steady hand and clear sense of purpose to leadership,” she said. “His appointment as CEO positions the firm well for the work ahead.”

Cohen also serves as president-elect of PRSA-NY, the New York chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. PRSA-NY will host its annual Big Apple Awards in September.

“These are critical times for our industry, and it is vital for public relations professionals to be able to rely on trusted industry leaders,” Cohen said in a February 2025 statement as the industry is demanding more from communicators than ever before. “Clients need trusted guidance and communications that cut through noise with clarity and integrity,” he said.

Attention Comms plans to continue providing services including brand storytelling, reputation strategy, digital engagement and media relations.
