The Communications Team of 2027 Is Being Built Now
2027 isn't very far away.
And if you're leading a communications team today, chances are you're already thinking about what that team needs to look like next year. Who do you hire? What new skills do you need? What can AI do really well, and where do you still need people making the calls?
Those are some of the questions I want to get into this Thursday when Aaron Kwittken, Global Head of AI + Innovation at FGS Global, joins us for a special CommPRO Virtual Town Hall, The AI Communications Team: What Every CCO Must Build Before 2027.
The idea for the conversation came from Aaron's recent CommPRO article, “Your Comms Team Doesn't Need an AI God. It Needs These Five Roles.”
I loved the premise because it gets beyond the endless discussion about whether AI is going to take our jobs. That's not particularly helpful if you're a CCO trying to run a department, develop your people and figure out where you need to invest.
The more interesting question is: What do we do now?
Aaron has some strong ideas about the roles and skills communications teams are going to need. But I don't want this to be an hour of Aaron talking at us. That's why we're doing it as a Town Hall.
I want people to ask questions, challenge assumptions and share what they're seeing inside their own organizations. Are you hiring differently because of AI? Are you retraining people? Are new roles starting to emerge? Are there things you thought AI would handle that you've discovered still need a human being?
And what does all of this mean for the people already building careers in our industry?
We're going to have a lot to talk about.
Please join Aaron, me and the CommPRO community this Thursday, September 10, from 11 a.m. to noon ET. It's free, it's interactive and I think it's going to be a really worthwhile conversation.
