What Will Define the 2027 Proxy Season? Join the Conversation

The 2027 proxy season is already taking shape, and for companies, boards, investors and their advisors, the conversation is becoming increasingly complex.

Changes at the SEC, evolving shareholder activism strategies, shifts in institutional voting and proxy advisory policies, and new approaches to shareholder engagement are creating a very different environment for the year ahead. For communications and investor relations leaders, these are not simply governance or legal issues. They are increasingly reputation and stakeholder issues as well.

That is why CommPRO is bringing together an outstanding group of experts for our 2027 Proxy Season Preview, a virtual executive roundtable on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. ET.

Keith E. Gottfried, founder and CEO of Gottfried Shareholder Advisory LLC, will moderate a conversation featuring Brendan M. Foo, partner and global head of Corporate Contests at Forward Global; Sydney Isaacs, co-president, H/Advisors - U.S., Houston; Amy I. Pandit, partner at Jones Day; and Ryan Nowicki Stewart, co-founder and CEO of Pennant.

Together, they bring perspectives from shareholder activism and defense, corporate communications, securities law and governance, investor engagement and technology.

The goal is not simply to predict what may happen during proxy season. We want to have a practical conversation about what companies should be thinking about now, what we learned from 2026 and how shareholder engagement and activism may continue to evolve.

Among the issues on the table will be the future of Rule 14a-8 and shareholder proposals, institutional voting shifts, proxy advisory firm policies, shareholder communications and engagement, and lessons from recent activist campaigns.

Most importantly, we want the CommPRO community to be part of the discussion. If you work in communications, investor relations, governance or legal affairs, or advise companies navigating these issues, bring your questions and your perspective.

The 2027 proxy season is coming. Let's start the conversation now.
