Racepoint Global Taps Eric Hodson for Agriculture Communications Expertise
Agriculture has become a much bigger communications story.
Technology, sustainability, renewable fuels and changing expectations from consumers and other stakeholders are giving communicators in the sector a more complicated story to tell. Racepoint Global is adding to its expertise in the space with Eric Hodson joining the agency as senior agriculture advisor.
Hodson brings an interesting perspective to the role because he has worked across several sides of the communications business. He spent 16 years at John Deere, later served as a vice president at Mod Op and is president and CEO of Green Light, LLC.
At Racepoint, he will work with clients on agriculture media relations, content and communications strategy.
The move also builds on an agriculture practice that Racepoint has been developing for more than a decade. The agency began working with John Deere 12 years ago, including communications surrounding technology, renewable fuels and high-value crops.
For communicators, that broader intersection of agriculture, technology and corporate reputation may be the more interesting part of the story. Agriculture communications today increasingly reaches beyond traditional trade audiences, making specialized industry knowledge particularly valuable as companies try to explain increasingly complex businesses to a much wider public.
