International Women’s Day on March 8 offers the opportunity for women throughout the world, of all backgrounds and beliefs, to come together in unity to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.Combined Insurance, a leading provider of individual supplemental accident, disability, health and life insurance products, and a Chubb company, is proud to support and participate in this day with a number of our colleagues at our Chicago headquarters.Today, Combined Insurance will host a Women’s Day Tea & Panel discussion—an event extended to both male and female employees at our Chicago Triangle Plaza headquarters.  As the Assistant Vice President of Talent Acquisition, Talent Management and Corporate Communications at Combined Insurance, I am especially honored to join three of my female leader colleagues in a discussion on “Press for Progress,” where we aim to motivate and unite female colleagues to think, act and have a strong voice. The women leading the panel discussion with me represent varying backgrounds—be it age, ethnicity, experience—and it is our hope to lead an enlightening and thoughtful conversation on the importance of recognizing the achievements of our female counterparts.Participating panel leaders for Combined Insurance’s event include:

  • Sherri Anaya, Vice President of Claims
  • Heidi Dross, Vice President of Operations for Combined Worksite Solutions/Chubb Workplace Benefits
  • Joan Cooney, Assistant Vice President of Field Development & Training

Our female employees make a big impact and a difference here. And to support women even further, we have several development programs in place to provide mentorship and thought leadership to women in advancing their careers. As a Chubb company, we look forward to playing a part in the larger celebration of this day that will be occurring at Chubb offices and locations throughout the globe. The company has a variety of events planned both inside and outside of corporate offices. It is exciting to work for a company that is such a strong advocate of diversity in the workplace and supporting women not only on this day, but throughout the year.  [author]About the Author: Melanie has more than 20 years of talent management and communications consulting and leadership experience, and has been with Combined Insurance, a Chubb company, for nearly five years as the Assistant Vice President of Talent Management & Corporate Communications.
