Celebrating 40 Years of D S Simon Media

One of the great joys of publishing CommPRO is having the opportunity to celebrate the people and organizations that have helped shape our profession.

Few have done that more consistently than Doug Simon and the team at D S Simon Media.

For 40 years, Doug has been a trusted voice, an innovator and, most importantly, a generous friend to the communications community. Whether through groundbreaking work in media relations, video storytelling, research or his willingness to share insights with colleagues across the industry, Doug has always been committed to helping communicators succeed. I feel fortunate that CommPRO has been part of that journey.

As D S Simon Media celebrates its 40th anniversary, Doug shared this reflection with our community.

When I declared my independence on July 4th, 1986 and started D S Simon Media (then D S Simon Productions), I couldn’t imagine I’d be posting an anniversary message to CommPRO 40 years later.

What I do know is that I couldn’t have done it without everyone who has helped along the way including clients, our great team and those of you I’ve learned from. In addition to taking this moment to express my gratitude, I want to give you the opportunity to express your insights about the industry. We’re asking you to share your take on what’s stayed the same in public relations or what’s changed since you started your career.

I’m excited for the next 40 years!

Congratulations, Doug, and congratulations to everyone at D S Simon Media. Thank you for four decades of leadership, partnership and friendship. The communications industry is stronger because of your contributions, and I know I'm not alone in looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Fay Shapiro

My background is rooted in business development and education. I am a "connector," driven to deliver results for my colleagues through the sharing of content on topics ranging from blockchain and cryptocurrency to crisis communications, digital marketing and financial communications.

I launched CommPRO.biz, a B2B digital media platform with the mission to become an educational resource for anyone seeking the tools they need to build and promote their message. A successful business needs to be able to tell their story. The content and events offered via CommPRO provide the foundation for their success.
