Valerie Di Maria has earned recognition as a communications and marketing leader and executive coach in both the corporate and agency worlds.

As an advocate for the public relations profession, she was influential in starting the PR Council, the industry’s trade association, and was a member of its Client Advisory Board.  She is a member and former Trustee of the Page Society, the preeminent organization for CCOs, and co-led the task force that produced Page’s “The Authentic Enterprise,” a definitive report on the evolving role of communications and its strategic importance to CEOs and reputation.

Valerie Di Maria is the founder and principal of the10company, a strategic consultancy launched in January 2012, dedicated to helping C-Suite executives transform their businesses through authentic, results-driven marketing and communications. Clients have included Alcoa, Amgen, Bank of America, BBC, Cardinal Health, Fannie Mae, KPMG, New York Life, Quest Diagnostics, Raytheon, and Xylem. In addition to external and employee communications, the firm provides a range of executive coaching services, including VOICES, a special program for women by women.

Her corporate roles included SVP/CMO for Willis Group Holdings, the global insurance broker. 

Di Maria led worldwide marketing, brand and reputation management, executive communications, media relations, employee communications, government affairs, community relations, corporate philanthropy, and events.  

Previously, she was Corporate VP of Communications and Public Affairs for Motorola.  Prior to Motorola, she was VP of Corporate PR and Advertising at GE Capital.  On the agency side, she was President of the NY headquarters of Grey Advertising’s worldwide public relations agency, GCI, and Vice Chairman of the GCI Group.  At GCI, she managed corporate and marketing work for CBS, IBM, Pfizer, M&M/Mars, 3M, and the International Olympics Committee.

Di Maria has been honored with PRSA’s John W. Hill Award for leadership in the practice of public relations, two PRSA Silver Anvils and two Big Apples. She was named one of the “10 Top Women in PR,” one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in PR,” and a “tech industry key player” by PR Week.

She has served on the advisory board for the Library of the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center and is a member of the Wisemen.  She is a former board member of British American Business, Inc.

She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from New York University.
