Eat! 4 Reasons To Promote Productivity

Marie Raperto, The Hiring HubEat and be more productive at work.  According to a study by TORK, skipping lunch or working at your desk may seem productive at the time but it could be affecting your work and it's up the employers/managers to help you break this habit.Don't be one of the 22% of managers who think employees who take lunch aren't hardworking or one of the 38% of employees who don't feel encouraged by the companies to take lunch breaks.  Be one of the 90% of employees that stated they felt refreshed and ready to get back to work after a proper lunch break.If you are a manager:

  1.  Lead by example.  Take a proper lunch break.  This will show your employees that it is ok to do this.
  2. Talk about taking a lunch break.  Eighty-one percent of respondents to this survey said that taking a lunch break gave them the desire to be an active member of their team/company.  It can also relieve stress and increase creativity.
  3. Offer incentives.  Who doesn't want to be rewarded?  You can also offer classes in stress relief, organization etc. to help employees leave their desks.
  4. Redesign your break room.  Make it comfortable so employees want to go there.

Workers need a break and so do you.  Give it a try and see if you are more productive!
