In May of 2017, ten top corporate communicators from some of the world’s most recognizable organization shared their experiences, guidelines and insights for the application of research in public relations.  In the coming (weeks/months), PRIME Research along with conference partner The Institute for Public Relations present a series of one-on-one interviews featuring each of the ten executives.The first installment features Atle Erlingsson, Head of Communications, SAP North America. Atle will be interviewed by PRIME CEO Mark Weiner, a Trustee of the Institute for Public Relations, a member of the Arthur Page Society and the author of books, essays and features about PR research.

SAP North America

As head of Communications for SAP North America, Atle Erlingsson develops communications strategies and drives integrated communications throughout the region, telling the SAP story across external and internal channels. He oversees reputation and crisis management, media relations, internal and executive communications, and corporate social responsibility. Atle returned to SAP in June 2015. He was previously with the organization in 2012, leading media relations in North America.Prior to SAP, he has implemented and driven successful communications programs for several U.S. and global Fortune 100 companies via his executive level posts with Wells Fargo and Prologis, and ascension through a series of related roles with the Allianz Group. Atle has direct experience working on communications campaigns in Europe, Asia and South America. Atle began his career as a broadcast journalist where he interviewed a variety of high profile political and business leaders and earned a prestigious Emmy award for his investigative reporting.Atle holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from the University of Arizona in Tucson. 

Mark Weiner

Page Society, serves as a Trustee and the 2017 Chairman of the Measurement Commission for The Institute for Public Relations, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Museum of Public Relations. He is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators, the Public Relations Society of America and AMEC. Weiner sits on the editorial advisory boards of The Strategist and PR News. He is a regular contributor to PR Week, IABC’s Communication World, PRSA’s Tactics and The Strategist, and Commpro.biz/PR-ROI, as well as an active participant at conferences by The Institute for Public Relations, The Conference Board, ABERJE, the Association of National Advertisers, The American Marketing Association, The Arthur Page Society, IABC and PRSA. Since 1993, he has devoted his career to helping many of the world’s most respected organizations and brands to demonstrate and generate a positive return on their investment in corporate and brand communications.
