The Future of PR

Will PR jobs expand or contract? As the media industry contracts, how will we be able to influence the influencers? How will new tech change what and how we do our jobs? What do today’s practitioners need in preparation to becoming tomorrow’s industry leaders?

Answers to these questions, and some entertaining story-telling, is the focus of a provocative PRSA-NY evening event focused on “The Future of PR.” Join PRSA-NY as it celebrates the publication of Chapter Past President Bill Doescher’s new book, Dear Folks: Essays and Insights from a Public Relations Leader.” The book is a combo memoir reflecting Doescher’s growing up in Utica, N.Y. through his experiences as a long-term PR practitioner and leader. He will bring several of his PR lessons to life.

Then, prepare to be inspired by PR industry legends as they discuss their own vision of The Future of PR.

  • Barri Rafferty, Partner, CEO and President, Ketchum (past PRSA-NY president);
  • Jon Iwata, Executive Fellow, Yale School of Management and IBM Senior Advisor (following a 35-year career at IBM); and
  • Grace Leong, CEO and Partner, Hunter

They’ll also be an open mic allowing attendees to share their own view of where the industry is headed, a book signing and sparkling wine toast. The evening will be moderated by Henry Feintuch, President, Feintuch Communications (past PRSA-NY president).

PRSA-NY thanks Makovsky Integrated Communications for providing the venue for this event; and to Researchscape International for its generous sponsorship.
