Dr. Mathes is the founder and Managing Director of PRIME Research, and the head of research for the F.A.Z.-Institute. After his studies in politics and media sciences, he worked in the research field at the Institute of Media Studies at the University of Mainz until 1988 and for the Research Center (ZUMA) until 1992. From 1992 until 1997, he was the Managing Director of the German Newspaper Marketing Association, Frankfurt. He is a frequently-published author and regular speaker on topics related to communication research.
Mark is the CEO of PRIME Research in the Americas. Since 1993, Mark has devoted his career to helping many of the world’s most respected organizations and brands demonstrate and generate a positive return on their investment in corporate and brand communications. Prior to PRIME, Mark was the Global Director and Senior Vice President of Ketchum Research where he led an international team of analysts. Prior to joining Ketchum, Weiner was the CEO and president of Delahaye.
Mark also is the author of Unleashing the Power of PR and dozens of white papers and articles. In addition to his guest lectures at PR conferences and professional development programs, Mark is a regular contributor to media and an advisor to PR News and The Strategist. Mark is a PRSA member and contributed to the Business Case for Public Relations initiative. He also is a member of the Commission on PR Measurement and Evaluation for the Institute for Public Relations and the International Association of Business Communicators.
Since January 2007, Dr. Kalt has been on the Board of PRIME Research International AG and managing director of PRIME Consult GmbH and its European foreign subsidiaries. Prior to PRIME, he was CEO and editor in chief at the renowned FAZ-Institute. He is a board member of the DPRG and the Issues Management Company (IMAGE) of Germany and co-editor of the magazine Kommunikationsmanager. Kalt teaches and is a lecturer at the Universities of Mainz, Siegen and Lugano, and has given guest lectures at the Universities of Riga and Moscow.
Richard has 20 years’ experience in PR measurement. In the 1990s he co-founded and led Metrica and as its Managing Director, transformed the company from start up into one of the world’s most formidable international specialists before selling it to Gorkana Group in 2009. He spent the next four years integrating Metrica’s measurement services into the Gorkana Group where his role was MD of Global Insights working across the groups 3,000+ client base.
As one of the world’s most experienced media evaluators, Richard is now the CEO of PRIME Research UK and SVP of PRIME Research Europe where his focus in on helping clients to get most value from their insights in both traditional and social media measurement.
He believes passionately in the importance of education for the industry and is a board director of AMEC and chairs its social media measurement committee. As part of this work he was instrumental in driving the industry towards using credible standardized metrics and focusing on analyzing the things that matter rather. He is a member of the CIPR’s social media panel with whom he has published two books on digital PR writing the chapters on social media measurement in ‘Share This’ and ‘Share This Too’.
Richard is a member of the UK Government’s Cabinet Office Evaluation Council which meets every 6 weeks to guide Government Departments and Arm’s Length Bodies on how best to measure their communications. In addition to this work, Richard was one of three external specialist reviewers that completed a full analysis of the UK Government’s Digital Communications Capabilities co-authoring a report on which findings all Government digital communications strategy for the future will be based.
