The Life of a PRIME Fellow: Week 2

By Nicole Lee

My first introduction to PRIME was actually at the International PR Research Conference in Miami where I had the opportunity to attend a presentation by Maria Oliveira, a New York-based PRIME project manager. Little did I know at the time that I would soon be working side-by-side with PRIME to do my own research – aided by their resources and expertise.

In my second week at PRIME, my focus has been on this research which is part of my fellowship program. In addition to helping out with client work, the fellowship involves writing an academic paper for use by practitioners for the Institute for Public Relations. As I continue to learn about the science of communication, I’m thinking hard about what the topic and what the focus will be.

One thing that stands out to me about PRIME is the firm’s commitment to education. It’s a big part of the organizational culture. Did you know that PRIME sponsors similar fellowships to mine in Brazil and the UK? In addition, PRIME strives to be a thought leader in measurement and helps educate the PR industry through conference presentations, online articles and a great deal of other published content. In fact, PRIME’s biggest thought leadership event of the year is held each November in NYC in partnership with the IABC.
