When the manager asked how everything was my daughter said ‘Grandpa’s house burned down’. Here’s how we received the check.” Surprise, everything was comped. Here’s the thing, though: Tanek42, the user who posted it, had only started his account seven months back, and this is the first and only post he ever submitted. So naturally, people thought it was a fake.

Clearwire Corp plans to notify Sprint Nextel Corp today (Thursday) that it will tap another $80 million of financing in April as part of its deal with the No. 3 U.S. wireless carrier, two people close to the matter said. In December, Sprint offered $2.97 per share to buy the rest of Clearwire that it does not own, and provided the wireless broadband operator up to $800 million in financing that it could draw on in installments of $80 million over 10 months.

Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc said on Wednesday it plans to distribute about $14.2 billion to creditors early next month, as the company winds down following its emergence from bankruptcy protection last year.The distribution, to be made April 4, will be Lehman’s third since it emerged from Chapter 11 protection on March 6, 2012. Lehman said the payout will increase total distributions to about $47.2 billion, with two-thirds going to third parties.

Comcast (CMCSA) Corp., the nation’s largest cable-television company, doesn’t have to defend against an $875 million antitrust lawsuit on behalf of as many as 2 million Philadelphia-area customers, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled.The justices, voting 5-4 to reverse a lower court, said the case against Comcast was too unwieldy to proceed as a single class-action lawsuit. The Philadelphia-based company was accused of monopolizing its hometown market. The suing customers said Comcast swapped territories and subscribers with competitors to ensure it could control the market and charge higher prices. Comcast has denied the allegations.

One of the most important things that determines how competitive the economy will be in the longer-term is how corporations are run: Who owns them and how their executives are selected and compensated. In an ideal world, corporate governance would serve everyone well. Shareholders would be able to easily sell their holdings when they needed the cash-but also would be patient enough that management could think long-term without seeing their share-price walloped. Board members would be independent-minded representatives of shareholders and drive a hard bargain on executive pay-yet also able to work closely and collaboratively with executives to come up with the best strategy.

Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC), the most valuable U.S. bank, paid a board member’s son about $1.4 million last year for his work in a unit responsible for investing deposits. Scott P. Quigley, 44, received the compensation as a manager in the principal investments group, according to the San Francisco-based lender’s most recent proxy filing. His father, Philip J. Quigley, a Wells Fargo director since 1994, is retiring from the board in April. Scott Quigley declined to comment, and his father didn’t respond to messages seeking comment. The bank declined to make them available. “It compromises both the executive and the director,” said Nell Minow, a corporate-governance consultant at GMI Ratings who co-founded the Corporate Library, based in Portland, Maine.

The company has updated its eponymous iOS app to allow users to curate and share collections of articles in the form of personalized digital magazines.Flipboard presents news feeds from websites — some of which it compensates with a share of ad revenue — alongside images in an automated, easily navigable layout. It makes content consumption on mobile devices more visually appealing than many Web-based content aggregation services. The app surfaces content based on the interests of the user’s social network and on the material offered by company’s publishing partners, a business model that has led to more than 50 million downloads.
