Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Communications Manager to develop and manage all public relations, media relations and industry analyst relations. The individual is responsible for cultivating and maintaining positive media coverage for our company and our products. Working in a dynamic team environment, the individual will also be responsible for additional communications activities including management and development of our industry-leading educational Webinar program, podcasts and video. As part of the Marketing team, and reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing, the Sr. Communications manager will work with marketing managers, executive staff, and product managers to define and execute our overall communications strategy, including, but not limited to, public relations and analyst relations. The Manager will be a key information source for all media contacts requesting data and insights, and will be responsible for the development, creation, implementation, and coordination of internal and external communications strategies, with the goal of gaining recognition in the market, promoting our services, and establishing our thought leadership throughout target industries and roles.
The Sr. Manager will consult with marketing, sales, product development, product management, and human resources in order to project the approved corporate and product and corporate message to both external and internal audiences. This person will act as a corporate spokesperson to the media, analysts and the general public. The person must be a team player with end-to-end responsibility for defining objectives, creating content/deliverables, and executing on the communications strategy. This is an in-house communication role. This is not an agency management role.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as main information source for all media contacts requesting data and insight.
Work closely with the executive team and product and marketing managers to develop creative and integrated programs to support product introduction, services offering, new technology and thought leadership.
Create external communications documents including press releases, white papers, and position statements.
Establish processes to generate steady volume of press releases and promote within the appropriate channels.
Solicit and place contributed articles, bylines, editorials and other key mentions.
Help to promote key media and analyst coverage internally through field sales, and leverage coverage to support marketing and sales campaigns.
Manage customer engagement communication and interface with select customers and partners.
Act as the communications interface to industry groups and organizations.
Educate industry analysts on our value proposition.
Arrange, facilitate and manage media and analyst briefings with key company spokespeople.
Establish company as a key technology player and market leader in both vertical and horizontal markets through media and analyst exposure.
Establish operational objectives and work plans.
Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements.
Regularly interact with senior management and executive levels on matters concerning communication and customer and partner engagement.
Engage internal and external speakers, create content, and manage delivery of Webinar, Podcast, and Video programs in support of overall communications plan.
Requirements:
Excellent journalistic writing and speaking skills.
Strong business acumen.
10 years successful public relations and analyst relations experience, preferably in a security technology environment and including both public relations and industry analyst relations.
Significant experience in media relations and issues management, content creation, spokesperson training, strategic marketing alliances, special events, etc.
Success representing public relations on cross-functional teams developing strategies and tactics for integrated marketing and corporate thought leadership plans.
Experience working with industry analysts to facilitate briefings and educational events.
Experience “translating” technology for varying horizontal and vertical market audiences.
Demonstrated analytical and conceptual problem-solving ability; excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic team environmen.
Thorough knowledge of technology marketing and communication (Security industry experience preferred).
Strong experience with communication tools and software including PPT, GoToWebinar, Webex, Camtasia, and media and editorial tool sets.
Strong network of key media and analyst contacts.
Dedication to development, tracking, and reporting on best practices metrics relative to responsibilities.
Pragmatic thought process and strong work ethic.
Salary:
