Job Description
| The New York Botanical Garden The New York Botanical Garden is a National Historic Landmark and one of NYC’s premier cultural institutions. We currently seek a dynamic Director of Public Relations to manage a full public relations program designed to: foster visibility of the Botanical Garden, its exhibitions, programs and attractions; promote awareness of key Garden staff; and generally to promote a positive image of the Garden in print, broadcast, and electronic media, thus contributing to the building of visitation. The ideal candidate will also direct the electronic media initiatives, particularly new media and digital technologies, of the public relations program.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Communications, English or Journalism preferred. At least five years experience in public/media relations and writing for publication; familiarity with new media trends and outlets, excellent writing, organizational and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe PhotoShop. Experience in a cultural, academic or non-profit institution preferred.
