The Director, Marketing is responsible for the management, supervision and production of advertising and media campaigns that deliver tune-in and ratings and establishes AMC as a preeminent television brand. This position is critical in order to drive AMC household rating growth and to firmly establish the network at its rating benchmark. This will enable the rapid growth of advertising revenue by increasing the concentration of a younger and more affluent viewer. By taking a lead role in establishing innovative digital initiatives for each marketing campaign, an increasingly important segment of the marketing mix, the Director, Marketing must be have expertise both strategically and tactically to ensure that AMC communications cut through a very cluttered universe. In addition working with research and vendors to understand the audience insights and its receptivity to the AMC brand or seek new audiences and promotional outlets as appropriate. Working closely with the VP, Consumer Marketing, this role is charged with leading the Department’s efforts to create and implement consistently innovative and superior marketing and advertising campaigns that support the AMC brand and/or specific network initiatives. This includes working across divisions and directing numerous marketing executions including digital initiatives, gallery photography shoots, press kits and sharing of assets to ensure show and brand consistency.
DAILY OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THIS POSITION 1. Along with SVP Marketing and VP Consumer Marketing, help define the marketing goals, strategies and tactics necessary to meet rating targets 2. Ensure seamless execution of advertising and marketing campaigns for all AMC brand initiatives including Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Rubicon, Walking Dead as well as the AMC brand 3. Lead the development of digital initiatives for all major campaigns and manage the implementation across various divisions including digital, IT and national ad sales 4. Create and oversee execution of creative briefs, annual advertising plans and calendars for all consumer digital initiatives and press kits 5. Management, supervision, development and creative execution of all AMC award campaigns 6. Work with public relations and oversee the concepting, execution, management, talent clearance and distribution of all gallery photography 7. Work with digital media group and oversee online/and execution of all AMC digital advertising, social networks, digital outreach and viral initiatives 8. Work with VP to identify and oversee key research initiatives across programming, brand and audience 9. Liaison on cross-promotional efforts as appropriate with other AMC divisions and coordinate the distribution of key assets 10. Manager & oversee direct relationships with outside creative and media agencies 11. Maintain competitive information 12. Manage development of regular internal communication materials to keep company informed of marketing activity 13. In addition, this position is charged with working with research to understand the audience and its receptivity to the AMC brand-and to recalibrate the brand or seek new audiences as appropriate.

Key Experiences/Achievements a) Eight years marketing experience in cable tv or advertising agency b) Proven ability to develop successful marketing programs with limited lead times and budgets c) Strong interest in movie-based product d) Managerial experience with department budget responsibility e) College degree required.
