Job Description
DEPARTMENT: Office of Communications, Marketing and Public Relations
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Vice President for Communications, Marketing and Public Relations, the Director of Marketing and Communications will support the implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan for increasing enrollment and prestige at the University of
New Orleans.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development of strategic marketing materials, including brochures, news releases, and advertising for print, broadcast and Internet; supervision of staff in public relations, publications, web strategy and creative services; research, development and execution of promotional activities and media events; collaboration with other administrative units to coordinate placement and distribution of marketing materials to reach key university constituencies; development and enforcement of identity standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field; five years of relevant professional experience; demonstrated knowledge of market research, promotions, advertising, public relations and print and broadcast media; and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
