Job Description

Overview:

We are currently operating 35 events across the U.S., Australia, Canada and the U.K. with significant growth continuing into 2013 and beyond.  We are currently hiring for a Digital Advertising Associate to join our Marketing department.

 

To date, Tough Mudder is the leader in the mud run obstacle course industry, with courses designed to challenge overall physical and mental toughness.  We have achieved significant growth in our core U.S. market – with expected sales of approximately $70M in 2012 – and have been profitable since our inception in 2010.  We are currently nearly 60 people strong at our headquarters (TMHQ) here in Brooklyn, NY.  Further, we have been featured in both the U.S. and international media, including: Nightline, Bloomberg, MSNBC and CNBC in the U.S.; BBC, The Telegraph and Men’s Fitness in the U.K.; and on Japan and Australian television.

Responsibilities:

Media Operations - 60%

  • Build new advertising campaigns
    • Digital channels (Google, Facebook, YouTube, and others)  20%
    • Terrestrial channels (print, radio, TV, etc.)  to support registrations for Tough Mudder events and general brand awareness for the company  10%
  • Monitor and optimize ongoing campaigns for core performance metrics and budget adherence  20%
  • Conduct media experiments to find ways/channels to improve performance and efficiency – 10%

Media Planning - 40%

  • Field incoming requests for meetings from new channels/partners based on priorities and guidelines established by marketing leadership  20%
  • Help generate budget projections and performance reports for all media buying, and determine channel allocation  10%
  • Monitor web analytics and perform requested web data analyses for marketing leadership  10%
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing, computer science, or economics
  • Highly analytical mindset
  • Curious about digital media
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing/advertising, preferably managing digital campaigns
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Prior experience with any of the following platforms, tools, or practices a major plus:
    • Google Analytics
    • Google AdWords
    • Facebook Advertising
    • Display Advertising
    • Media Planning
    • Vendor Management
