Job Description
Develop, implement and advance a communications strategy reflecting the mission, vision, values, work and program opportunities of the Notre Dame Office of Campus Ministry to its constituent stakeholders, particularly students, faculty, administration and staff, alumni, donors, peer institutions, the local community and wider Church.
The role has two focal points: 1) to steward the Office’s reputation and advance it and 2) to generate communication that acts as a catalyst to students, faculty, staff and others to become engaged in Campus Ministry’s work.
MARKETING COMMUNICATION: Develop tactics and collateral for marketing campaigns that promote Campus Ministry events, programs, and initiatives. Measure success of tactics. This includes oversight of print, web, and multimedia communication channels, supervision of contracted design work, creation of in-house print and electronic communication, developing a branding and merchandising strategy.
ADMINISTRATION: Develop and execute communications strategy. Create and oversee Campus Ministry communications budget. Oversee work contracted out with external print, web and video agencies. Meet with Campus Ministry directors and program coordinators to determine program needs. Collaborate with Office of Public Affairs and Communications on special initiatives, and serve as a member of Campus Ministry’s senior staff.
PUBLIC RELATIONS: Work with the Executive Director and program directors to steward and build Campus Ministry’s reputation with audiences at the University, in the local community, regionally and nationally, including press contacts, events management, and networking effectively within the University.
DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION: Work with the Executive Director and the University’s Development Office to create effective tools for stewardship, and cultivation of donors. This includes gift reports, writing grant proposals, and the production of Campus Ministry’s annual report.
General Campus Ministry duties such as staff meetings, staff prayer, working committees, hospitality events, special projects, and other Campus Ministry community duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
5-6 years Experience
Expertise in the use of social media
Experience developing a marketing/branding strategy for an organization
Strong media background
Master’s, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
